PVC heat stabilizer is good and stable

PVC heat stabilizers are mainly used for PVC and other chlorine-containing polymers. It has been found that PVC plastic can only be processed at a temperature above 160 °C, and it begins to thermally decompose at 120~130 °C, releasing HCl gas. If the production of HCl is not inhibited, the decomposition will be further intensified. The main problems in the development and application of PVC plastics.

The research found that if PVC plastic contains a small amount of impurities such as lead salt, metal soap, phenol, aromatic amine, etc., it will not affect its processing and application, but also can delay its thermal decomposition to a certain extent. The above problems have been solved, which has prompted the establishment and continuous development of the research field of thermal stabilizers.

Any additives that can improve the thermal stability of polymers are called thermal stabilizers. Due to the poor thermal stability of PVC, the vast majority of PVC stabilizers in the world are used for PVC. Therefore, the PVC stabilizer usually refers to the heat stabilizer of polyvinyl chloride and its copolymers.

Generally classified according to the chemical components of heat stabilizers, which can be basic lead salts, metal soaps, organotin, epoxy compounds, phosphites, polyols, etc. According to the size of the effect, PVC stabilizers can be divided into main stabilizers and auxiliary stabilizers. The auxiliary stabilizer itself has only a small stabilizing effect or no thermal stabilizing effect, but it has a synergistic effect with the main stabilizer; the main stabilizer is generally a metal-containing thermal stabilizer. Pure organic compounds such as epoxy compounds, phosphites, and polyols are generally used as auxiliary stabilizers.

Because it is often necessary to use a variety of PVC heat stabilizers at the same time to achieve good stability of PVC, some commercial PVC stabilizers are compounded by a variety of components to become composite stabilizers, such as barium-cadmium stabilizer, barium-zinc stabilizer These compound stabilizers are usually added with additives such as lubricants required for polyvinyl chloride processing for the convenience of users. There are many varieties of composite stabilizers, including powder, paste, and liquid.
